The WHAC, composed of the homeless and their allies, have spearheaded a number of campaigns to advocate on behalf of the homeless in Worcester.
In its short history, the Worcester Homeless Action Committee:
1. Has graded candidates for office on their homeless positions.
2. Has spearheaded the "Oopen Doors, End Homelessness" campaign, a $20,000 public information campaign to push for housing options.
3. Has held a candidates night with 140 homeless voters, created a voter's guide, and transported people to the polls.
4. Has launched a prisoner discharge planning guide.
5. Is working to create an emergency fund in the city for people transitioning to housing from homelessness.
